In my opinion, many females see the riding of a Harley (as a rider or as a passenger) as an opportunity to play with their deviant costume fetishes and look-at-me desire. Guys, get THESE here and ladies get THESE here (both on Amazon at extremely-affordable prices, so you’ve no excuses to now be wearing silly fashion-wear boots on a cruiser) Whether you’re a dude or a dudette, do yourself a favor and get yourself a good set of cruiser motorcycle boots. The following photograph below of a female Harley rider illustrates this point to a T, as not riding with a proper motorcycle jacket, pants and boots (as this lady was) is inexcusable seeing how there is so much motorcycle gear to be had and for all sorts of tastes. Even when trying to make it look like they’re trying to take motorcycle gear seriously, so many Harley riders will only wear sub-par gear that won’t even protect all of their body. Spot-on bullying behavior from a segment of the Harley-Davidson community that I’m tired of seeing. expensive clothing) and who are going about their business (no pun intended) on their Harleys without ruffling any feathers. What’s mildly entertaining is the imminent irony of how these squiddy Harley bikers do not realize of themselves being squids (instead thinking they’re the “real” deal) while attacking other folks for their chosen attire (i.e. Now, it could be argued that no one rides quick/fast on a Harley, but the rest of the acronym is on point with “real” Harley riders. The irony of a Harley Squid laughing at a Harley RUBĭon’t know what a “Squid” is in biker lingo? It’s the codeword (or acronym) for a “Stupid Quick Underdressed Imminently Dead” biker. Here’s said picture discerning a RUB poser from a “real” Harley rider: For the record, a RUB is a “Rich Urban Biker” who wears all sorts of flashy Harley-Davidson-approved clothing. One of the guys in that thread posted a picture of what real Harley riders look like versus how posers and RUBs look like. And, yes, I did count the dozens upon dozens of posts in that thread that were against real motorcycle gear (including against full-face helmets). That 90-per-cent figure is remarkably similar to my guesstimation of 90% of Harley riders being posers. The guy was pretty much laughed at and about 90% of the posters on that thread simply posted that jeans and a t-shirt is all they’ll wear, maybe a leather jacket (with no body armor) if it’s cold. I was browsing one of the many Harley Davidson forums online and I caught up with a thread where a guy was asking about motorcycle gear that he could wear to ride on his newly-purchased Harley (I think it was a Dyna).

  • Extremely popular with cruiser riders too.
  • So, one of em’ no-motorcycle-gear dudes too, huh? While I get your attitude (but don’t share it) towards protective equipment, just take a moment to look at THIS helmet (DOT certified) on Amazon as it may actually change your outlook on wearing gear.
  • This includes wearing the flagship clothing of this particular Harley-riding group: bandanas, jeans and work boots. However, it is my experience, and that of others, that about 90% of Harley riders are just posers and ride a Harley just because they’ve fallen prey to peer pressure. I don’t look down on sportbikes nor on metric cruisers, and I can certainly talk about the benefits of all kinds of motorcycles. I don’t like nor follow the so-called “lifestyle” that has Harley riders alienating themselves from the rest of motorcycle brands and riders.

Just as you’ll catch me on my Fat Boy, you’ll also catch me wearing motorcycle gear through and through. I own a sportbike too, but you’ll catch me most of the time riding my Fat Boy because I really enjoy the bike. Now, before some of you Harley riders shoot me, allow me to say that I own a Fat Boy and I’m very happy with it. This is my first article at as a contributor so I wanted to stir the pot a little with a motorcycle-gear topic that causes starkly-polarizing opinions: Harley-Davidson riders not wearing motorcycle gear.
